Persija Jakarta prepares for season amid transfer rumors

Overview

Persija Jakarta has completed an intensive training camp in Hua Hin, Thailand, to prepare for the 2026-2027 Super League season. Led by coach Shin Tae-yong, the squad utilized twice-daily sessions focusing on strength training and tactical implementation, incorporating individual physical assessments to tailor programs.

The camp integrated six players returning from the 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup—Rizky Ridho, Jordi Amat, Shayne Pattynama, Dony Tri Pamungkas, Rayhan Hannan, and Nadeo Argawinata—who underwent specialized recovery to manage fatigue. During the camp, the team secured 2-1 victories in friendly matches against Police Tero and Chiangrai United. Shin Tae-yong expressed optimism, stating that while current performance is at approximately “70 to 80 percent,” he expects the team to reach “100 percent” as they finalize tactical adjustments.

Following the camp, the club shifted focus toward squad reinforcement and upcoming league fixtures. Following a victory against Borneo FC in the opening week of the season, the team is now preparing for a high-pressure home match against Persib Bandung at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium. Shin Tae-yong indicated a strong determination to improve the club’s recent head-to-head record against Persib Bandung, noting that the fixture serves as a critical test for the squad’s consistency at the start of the season.
