Indonesian Manpower Minister urges graduates to master digital and AI skills

Indonesian Manpower Minister Yassierli has emphasized that university graduates must master integrated digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI) to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving job market. Speaking in Jakarta, Yassierli stated that possessing core academic skills alone is no longer sufficient to meet modern industrial demands.

He noted that the rise of new roles, such as big data analysts and product developers, demonstrates a shift where employers prioritize a combination of competencies over specific degree titles. To prepare, Yassierli advised students to proactively build their professional profiles during their studies through a combination of theoretical learning, practical experience, internships, official certifications, and portfolio development.
