Indonesian NGOs Deliver School Supplies to Rural and Border Communities

On July 27, Yayasan Bambu Lingkungan Lestari (YBLL) partnered with the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Conservana and the Ngada regency government to distribute school supplies and bamboo‑based teaching tools to students of SDN Natartuak in Riung, Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara. The aid included shoes, notebooks, pens and bamboo‑made items such as flower vases and waste bins, along with a bamboo‑seedling planting activity, marking the National Children’s Day celebrations.

The next day, Dompet Dhuafa Kalimantan Timur organized a “Berbagi Senyum Kebaikan Sekolah Tapal Batas” program at MI Darul Furqon in the border town of Sebatik, Nunukan, North Kalimantan. The charity provided 37 learning kits to pupils and food parcels to teachers, preceded by a storytelling session. The school serves children living along the Indonesia‑Malaysia frontier, extending the children’s day outreach to a border community.
