Overview
The National Children’s Day celebrations launched on 23 July and quickly spread to every region. Inclusion remained central on 24 July, with free train rides, sign‑language support and performances by deaf and intellectually‑disabled groups in Medan and East Java. The following day Medan’s mayor invited a child with Down syndrome to perform, and PT Kereta Api’s Daop 7 offered a discounted, accessible train trip for special‑school students. Solo educator Bunda Hany released a maths‑focused song and animated series, and Yayasan Amanah Poppy Amalya in Banda Aceh provided therapy and called for stronger government support for children with special needs. Traditional games in Batang, education contests in Malinau churches and a vice‑governor’s call for joint child‑protection responsibility in Papua Barat Daya added to the nationwide reach.
New outreach on 27 July saw Yayasan Bambu Lingkungan Lestari and partners distribute bamboo‑made teaching tools, shoes and notebooks in Ngada, East Nusa Tenggara, and Dompet Dhuafa Kalimantan Timur supply learning kits and food parcels to a border school in Sebatik, North Kalimantan. On 30 July, Pertamina EP Rantau Field welcomed children with special needs in Aceh Tamiang using sign language and ran inclusive activities, while Magelang’s Bungah Bingah Festival, organized by the local community‑empowerment department, featured creative workshops and a mayoral pledge for a safe, child‑friendly city.
