Indonesian officials welcome returning Hajj pilgrim groups from Saudi Arabia

A group of 360 pilgrims from nine districts in North Sumatra (Kloter 04) returned to Medan on 5 June 2026 via Kualanamu International Airport after completing the Hajj rituals in Mecca and Medina. The delegation was received by Dr. Zulkifli Sitorus, head of the regional Hajj and Umrah office, the regent of Batu Bara, and other local officials, who praised the safe return and urged the pilgrims to apply the lessons of their journey to improve faith and social responsibility.

In East Java, 160 pilgrims from Magetan (Kloter 20) arrived early Saturday and were greeted at the GOR Ki Mageti by Regent Nanik Endang Rusminiarti and senior provincial Hajj officials. The regent expressed gratitude for the safe pilgrimage, offered condolences for a pilgrim who died in Mecca, and urged the returning group to undergo health checks and maintain the spirit of a "mabrur" Hajj.

Both receptions highlighted the coordinated effort of Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs and regional authorities to manage the safe repatriation of pilgrims after the 2026 Hajj season.
