Indonesian Police Emphasize Ongoing Institutional Reform

Police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo told a coordination meeting in Jakarta on 10 June 2026 that the National Police (Polri) will continue systematic reforms to meet public expectations for service, professionalism and accountability. He stressed that improvement cannot be unilateral; it requires input, oversight and aspirations from various stakeholders, and that public criticism and complaints will be used as evaluation material. Polri is also revising internal regulations to adapt to social dynamics, technological developments and rising public expectations, aiming for a modern, responsive institution.

The chief highlighted the need for stronger supervision and evaluation to ensure reforms have real impact and to build public trust in the police force.
