Indonesian police launch educational programs to prevent juvenile delinquency
Police departments in Indonesia are implementing educational initiatives to combat juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, and online gambling among students. Through the “Polisi Peduli Pendidikan” (POLIDIK) program, law enforcement officers are engaging directly with students in school environments to increase legal awareness and discipline.
In Pamulang, Banten, Deputy Police Chief Iptu Janes Silitonga addressed students at SMAN 3 Kota Tangsel, warning against the legal consequences of brawls, narcotics, and gambling. The initiative aims to encourage students to choose positive social circles and focus on their studies.
Similarly, in Surabaya, East Java, Police Chief Kombes Pol. Luthfie Sulistiawan conducted socialization sessions at MAN Kota Surabaya. This effort aligns with the “Polisi Jogo Sekolah” program, which utilizes preventive and humanistic approaches to mitigate bullying, brawls, and drug use within the educational sector.
