Indonesian police seize 10 tons of subsidized solar in Padang and arrest hoarder in Jepara
Police in Padang arrested four suspects and seized about 10 tons of subsidized biosolar fuel after a raid on a storage site on Jalan Raya Bandar Buat. The operation recovered a blue‑white Mitsubishi diesel tank, an Isuzu box truck, five one‑ton drums, a suction machine and associated hoses. Authorities estimate the material loss at roughly Rp100 million and have charged the suspects under Article 55 of Indonesia’s oil and gas law.
In Jepara, police together with the state oil agency detained a 42‑year‑old man from Demak who had bought subsidized solar using sixteen falsified barcodes. He used a modified 1,000‑liter tanker truck equipped with a homemade pump to hoard the fuel, which was later sold to other parties. Seized items included the red‑and‑yellow truck, a fuel container, the barcodes, fake vehicle plates and the pump device. The detainee also faces charges under the same legal provision.
