Indonesian police seize 34 vehicles with illegal exhausts in Padang and Ngawi

The Padang police department (Polresta Padang) confiscated 18 motorcycles equipped with illegal "knalpot brong" exhausts during an intensified night patrol on 1–2 August 2026. The operation, led by Police Chief Kombes Pol Apri Wibowo, targeted hotspots for street racing and public disturbances, and the seized motorcycles were taken to the police station for processing.

In Ngawi, the traffic unit of the regional police (Polres Ngawi) conducted a hunting‑system patrol that resulted in 16 vehicles being cited for the same exhaust violation, including one bus and 15 motorcycles. The patrol was overseen by Traffic Chief AKP Moh. Imam Reza, who issued fines in accordance with traffic regulations. Both forces emphasized that the crackdown is part of an ongoing effort to improve road safety, reduce noise pollution, and prevent related public‑order incidents.
