Indonesian PPPK workers plan Jakarta protest over employment status

Part-time Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK paruh waktu) in Indonesia are planning a demonstration in Jakarta on October 7, 2026. The Aliansi Merah Putih (AMP) and the Persatuan PPPK Paruh Waktu Indonesia (PPWI) intend to hold Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad to his previous commitments regarding the transition of part-time workers to full-time status for all positions.

In Bangka Tengah, Central Bangka Regency, Bupati Algafry Rahman has extended the work contracts of 1,292 part-time PPPK employees. The decision followed a performance evaluation and an assessment of human resource needs within the local government. The official decrees for these extensions were signed to ensure the continuation of public services in the region.
