Indonesian President Prabowo Meets Qatar Foreign Minister, Flags $4 B Investment

President Prabowo Subianto received Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad Al‑Muraikhi, at the Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on 15 June 2026. The two leaders exchanged warm greetings from Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and marked the upcoming 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Qatar.

Qatar reiterated its commitment to invest US$4 billion – roughly Rp 70.8 trillion – in a range of strategic sectors in Indonesia and discussed plans for the Emir’s visit to the country later in 2026 to deepen economic and political cooperation.
