Indonesian President Prabowo urged to speed up election law overhaul

The secretary‑general of the Perindo Party, Ferry Kurnia Rizkyansyah, called on President Prabowo Subianto to accelerate a revision of Indonesia's election law. He warned that delays, like the 2021 postponement, hinder the representation of voters in parliament and undermine democratic quality. Rizkyansyah said the amendment is needed for a stronger democratic legacy, stating, “President Prabowo must provide a good legacy in democracy at this time,” and adding, “Legacy to give a good record through accelerating the revision of the election law.” The party argues that a prompt, focused debate on the law will improve political representation and avoid a repeat of past setbacks.
