Indonesian prosecutors seize assets in National Nutrition Agency corruption case

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office has uncovered a corruption scheme involving the procurement of electric motorcycles for the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) under the Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program. Investigators allege that officials and private parties manipulated procurement reports to misrepresent the number of units delivered.

According to the Attorney General's Office, while approximately 25,644 units were initially promised, the project was revised to 21,000 units. However, by March 2026, only 2,117 units were actually realized, despite reports being falsified to suggest that approximately 21,800 units had been completed. The project involved a budget of approximately Rp 1.2 trillion.

Five suspects have been named, including Colonel Budi Utomo, the Secretary of the Deputy for Supply and Distribution at BGN, and four individuals from the private sector: Andri Mulyono and Yenna Yuniana of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal, along with AA and GB, both directors at PT ASE. The suspects are accused of conspiring to ensure PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal and PT ASE won the tender through rigged specifications and pricing.

As part of the investigation, authorities have seized several high-value assets, including a Textron Aviation aircraft, a Bell 505 helicopter, a Lexus LM500, several BYD vehicles, and Rp 24.97 billion in cash.
