Indonesian regional authorities expand nutritional programs

In Merauke, the Bhayangkari Kimaam branch distributed free nutritious meals to 250 students at SMP Negeri 1 Kimaam. This routine Friday initiative aims to support student health, growth, and academic focus. The program is part of an ongoing effort by the Bhayangkari Merauke Branch to support local schools in the Kimaam District.

In Kutai Kartanegara, Regent Aulia Rahman Basri is refining the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program to address nutritional gaps more comprehensively. While the national MBG program primarily targets school-aged children, the Kutai Kartanegara approach seeks to expand intervention to include pregnant women, adolescent girls, and children under two years old. The Regent emphasized the importance of addressing the first 1,000 days of life to ensure long-term developmental success.
