Indonesian regional authorities intensify discipline enforcement for civil servants
Regional authorities in Indonesia are intensifying enforcement actions to ensure discipline among civil servants (ASN) and students.
In Bengkulu, the Satpol PP has announced a strict policy against civil servants who skip work without valid reasons. Sahat Maruliua Situmorang, Head of Satpol PP Kota Bengkulu, stated that the agency will no longer issue warnings; instead, officers will actively locate and pick up employees found absent during working hours to ensure public services are not disrupted.
Similarly, in Aceh, Satpol PP and WH officials conducted patrols in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. During these operations, officers apprehended two students skipping school and one civil servant found outside their office during working hours. The students were returned to their respective schools for further guidance, while authorities emphasized that routine patrols will continue to maintain public order and discipline.
