Indonesian regional leaders inaugurate 2026 Paskibraka members

Regional leaders in Indonesia have inaugurated the 2026 Paskibraka (National Flag Hoisting Troop) members in preparation for the 81st Independence Day celebrations.

In Maluku, Governor Hendrik Lewerissa inaugurated 28 members, consisting of 14 males and 14 females representing various regencies and cities. Due to budget efficiency measures, the Maluku team has been reduced to a single squad for both the raising and lowering of the flag, rather than the traditional two separate teams. Officials noted that despite the reduction, the formation remains complete.

In Gorontalo, Governor Gusnar Ismail inaugurated 25 members. He emphasized that the role serves to foster nationalism and character building, encouraging the students to act as role models in their daily lives following the official ceremonies.
