Indonesia Paskibraka 2026 ceremonies

Overview

In mid-August 2026, regional leaders across Indonesia inaugurated members of the Paskibraka (National Flag Hoisting Troop) in preparation for the country’s 81st Independence Day celebrations.

In Maluku, Governor Hendrik Lewerissa inaugurated 28 members. Due to budget efficiency measures, the Maluku team was reduced to a single squad for both raising and lowering the flag. In Gorontalo, Governor Gusnar Ismail inaugurated 25 members, noting the role’s importance in fostering nationalism and character building.

Following the national ceremonies at the State Palace in Jakarta, regional members began receiving local honors. In Gorontalo, Governor Ismail welcomed national-level representatives Muhammad Azka Gaib and Khasyifa Anindi Sudarmanto at the airport, awarding them cash bonuses of Rp5 million each. In West Sumatra, local officials planned a parade in Lubuk Basung to celebrate the achievements of Ahmad Alfatih.
