Indonesian universities host student digital innovation events in 2026

Data Science student Dini Fitriyah Herti of Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) won the inaugural digital poster competition at the Pekan Seni Mahasiswa Daerah (Peksimida) DKI Jakarta 2026. The contest, held at Universitas Gunadarma in Depok, required participants to create a design for the theme “Encouraging Creation of a Higher‑Quality Life”. Dini’s poster, titled “Investasi Besok Pagi Dimulai dari Malam Ini”, was produced with ibis Paint X and Canva and promoted herbal catnip tea for better sleep.

At the same time, Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) campus Pontianak organized the Information Systems EXPO 2026. Over two days the event showcased 35 student‑developed applications and information‑system solutions addressed to government agencies, SMEs, schools and industry partners. The expo, opened by campus head Eri Bayu Pratama, emphasized direct implementation of student work to support digital transformation across multiple sectors.
