Indonesian universities launch 2026 student orientation programs
Universities in Indonesia have commenced their 2026 student orientation programs. At Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Palangka Raya, the Talawang Academic and Student Culture Introduction (PBAK) opened with a focus on integrity, diversity, and unity. Rector Ahmad Dakhoir emphasized that the program serves as a gateway for students to transition from high school to higher education, encouraging them to expand their horizons beyond academic grades.
At Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), the GARDA 2026 orientation program was launched with a hybrid format involving approximately 20,000 participants. Rector Nurhasan highlighted the importance of preparing students to contribute to the nation's 2045 vision. To prevent issues such as bullying or the use of academic proxies (joki tugas), Unesa has implemented mitigation strategies, including reducing orientation hours and ensuring assignments are strictly related to academic adaptation.
