Indonesian Universities Strengthen Ties with Industry and Malaysia
Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Campus Pontianak held a "Come to Company" visit to PT Burnia Nitya Lavanya (Hotama) on July 1, 2026. The trip, organized by the university’s BEC Entrepreneur Center and BEC Career Center, focused on expanding internship opportunities, joint training, recruitment pipelines and possible class‑for‑employees programs to better align student skills with industry needs.
Separately, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) sent a delegation led by Vice‑Rector Prof. Dr. Em Sutrisna to Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM) in Perlis on July 8, 2026. The visit aimed to cement UMAM as a strategic partner for human‑resource development, including scholarships for UMS lecturers to pursue doctoral studies at UMAM and broader collaborative research initiatives. Both visits underscore a broader push by Indonesian private universities to deepen practical links with the business sector and to build regional academic networks.
