Indonesia's Agrarian Minister Nusron Wahid Calls for Public Critique to Improve Policies

Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Nusron Wahid addressed students at the KOPDAR Bareng Mas Dar event in the Auditorium Joglo GIK, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta on 15 June 2026. He stressed that effective public policies must be shaped by listening to community criticism, aspirations and feedback, linking this practice to the values of Pancasila. Wahid said that policies should be continuously evaluated and corrected, especially during the month of Pancasila, and that student demonstrations represent healthy democratic dialogue. The minister was joined by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono and the head of the Poverty Alleviation Agency, Budiman Sudjatmiko, before the session was halted due to site conditions. The government pledged to review the students' inputs to refine agrarian and spatial planning regulations.
