Indonesia's ATR/BPN increases integrated spatial planning documents

The Indonesian Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) has reported a significant increase in the number of Detailed Spatial Plans (RDTR) integrated with the Online Single Submission (OSS) business licensing system. As of mid-October 2026, the number of RDTRs integrated with OSS has risen to 576, up from 268.

This integration aims to facilitate ease of doing business by providing clarity on spatial utilization for investors and supporting sustainable land use policies. Beyond investment, these spatial planning measures are intended to protect agricultural land to support national food self-sufficiency goals. The 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan mandates that at least 87% of standard paddy fields be designated as sustainable food agricultural land by 2029.

In regional efforts, the Selayar Islands Regency government has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating RDTR preparation during a coordination meeting in Makassar. This meeting, organized by the Directorate General of Spatial Planning, involved local governments from Sulawesi, the Maluku Islands, and Papua to ensure legal certainty in spatial utilization and regional development.
