Indonesia’s Attorney General Pursues Corruption Cases in Nutrition Program and Tin Mining

The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) disclosed that the procurement of electric motorcycles for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program was inflated, with a self‑estimated price (HPS) of about Rp 47 million per unit and a total overpricing potentially reaching Rp 1.2 trillion. Prosecutor Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi said the HPS was set “against the law” and resulted in a clear markup. Investigators have named three former officials of the National Nutrition Agency and a private individual (AYS) as suspects.

Separately, Kejagung’s asset‑recovery team seized nine parcels of land worth billions from smelter boss Tamron (alias Aon) linked to a corruption and money‑laundering case involving PT Timah’s mining licence from 2015‑2022. Acting head of the Attorney General’s Secretariat, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the seizure, carried out from 9‑11 June in Bangka Belitung province.
