Indonesia's Batam and West Java Leaders Push Forward 3 Million‑House Housing Program

Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad reaffirmed the city’s commitment to Indonesia’s national 3 Million‑House program, outlining strategic measures such as allocating land, streamlining permits, digitising housing data and offering tax‑exemption incentives to accelerate affordable‑housing construction for low‑income families. He emphasized that “a house is not just a building, but a foundation for improving people’s quality of life.”

West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman stressed the need for transparent, accountable implementation across the province’s 27 regencies and cities. He called for professional, corruption‑free execution, noting the program is a priority of President Prabowo. “The important thing is there are no bad actors in delivering welfare through the 3 Million‑House program,” he said, adding that September 2026 will mark a focused rollout of new housing projects.

Both officials highlighted coordination between central and local authorities to ensure the program delivers decent, affordable homes and associated infrastructure such as roads, drainage and water supply.
