Indonesia's Baznas distributes Eid meat to 6,700 Palestinian refugees in Syria

Indonesia's National Alms Agency (Baznas) delivered sacrificial meat from about 200 sheep to roughly 6,700 Palestinian refugees in Idlib province, Syria, as part of its 2026 Eid al‑Adha program. Distribution took place in the Hazano area (Qusaniyah, Shariaa and Qadisiyah camps) and the Sarmada area (Sarmada and Al‑Omareen camps) between 27 and 29 May 2026.

Baznas head Sodik Mudjahid said the program reflects Indonesia’s solidarity with Palestinians, adding, "We want to ensure that the trust placed in us by the Indonesian people reaches our brothers and sisters in need" and "We hope this qurbani meat distribution brings happiness to our Palestinian brothers and sisters who continue to be affected by prolonged humanitarian conflicts." The Indonesian embassy in Damascus assisted with logistics, and Baznas pledged to expand future humanitarian initiatives.
