Indonesia's Baznas expands partnerships to boost micro enterprises and aid Palestine
The National Zakat Management Agency (Baznas) of Indonesia announced a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives to strengthen micro‑enterprise development for zakat beneficiaries. Baznas will integrate its programs such as Zmart, Z‑Chicken, and micro‑finance schemes into the cooperative system, giving participating small firms legal business status, easier access to financing and improved market competitiveness.
Separately, Baznas signed a cooperation agreement with the International Organization for Human Development (4TDK) to enhance long‑term humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in Gaza. The partnership will coordinate the distribution of aid, support reconstruction of education and infrastructure, and provide scholarships for Palestinian students in Indonesia, building on previous donations of roughly Rp 3 billion during Ramadan.
