The National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional, BGN) disclosed that it owes approximately Rp1.6 trillion to third‑party contractors for activities completed in the 2025 fiscal year. Payment is planned for 2026 through a carry‑over mechanism in the budget implementation list (DIPA), after the current budget block is lifted.

BGN also announced a comprehensive review of about 27,000 Service Units for Nutritional Fulfilment (SPPG) that deliver the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. The agency has temporarily suspended some partner collaborations while it re‑evaluates operations, with a 30‑day deadline set by President Prabowo Subianto to improve management. The review includes units in remote and disadvantaged areas.

Parliamentary Commission IX questioned BGN’s 2025 performance, noting that only 66 % of the allocated budget was absorbed and raising concerns about the agency’s “WTP” rating. Lawmakers also debated a proposal to exclude children from wealthy families from MBG benefits, citing potential social tensions.

The Democratic Party (PDIP) has requested data on party cadres involved in SPPG projects, awaiting a response from BGN. Overall, the agency is working to settle outstanding debts, improve program oversight, and address budget utilisation issues.
