Indonesia's BMKG forecasts rain and clouds across Jakarta and wider regions

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned that Jakarta will be shrouded in thick clouds throughout the day, with maximum temperatures reaching 34 °C. South Jakarta may see a light rain, the Seribu Islands are expected to have drizzle, and wind speeds will range from 7‑12 km/h (up to 27 km/h on the islands).

Earlier, BMKG issued a nationwide outlook for Sunday (May 7, 2026), forecasting light rain across most of Indonesia. Cloudy conditions are expected in Jambi, while Padang, Pangkal Pinang, Bengkulu and Palembang should see light rain. Moderate rain is possible in Medan, with thunderstorms warned for Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang and Bandar Lampung. Major Java cities—including Surabaya, Semarang, Jakarta, Serang, Bandung and Yogyakarta—will be under thick cloud cover. Kalimantan’s key cities face light rain, and the agency cautioned that heavy to very heavy rain could affect North Sumatra, Central Kalimantan and West Sulawesi.
