Indonesia's BNPB reports forest fires, floods and wind damage across four regions

Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded a series of natural disasters in a 24‑hour period. In Jambi province on Sumatra, forest and land fires burned over 121 hectares, with the largest blaze in Sarolangun district. The agency also confirmed floods in Palopo, South Sulawesi, submerging ten homes and one hectare of plantation, and strong winds in Lingga, Riau, damaging 80 houses and two schools. Additional wind damage was reported in Dairi, North Sumatra, affecting twelve homes, while the island of Sabu Raijua in East Nusa Tenggara saw a 20‑hectare fire linked to waste‑burning debris.

BNPB officials said joint task forces are actively fighting the fires and providing emergency assistance to the affected communities, with Jambi remaining under a disaster‑alert status until the end of November.
