Indonesia's Creative Economy Advances via New Regional Regulation and BINUS University Partnership

The Ministry of Creative Economy and Culture held an online briefing on Ministerial Regulation No. 9 of 2025, which sets guidelines for regional governments to develop creative‑industry ecosystems. Binjai’s regional secretary Chairin F. Simanjuntak and tourism officials attended the Zoom session, noting the city’s potential in cuisine, crafts, fashion, performing arts, photography and music despite not yet establishing a dedicated creative‑economy agency.

Separately, the ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BINUS University to strengthen the national creative‑economy ecosystem. The agreement covers education, research, community service, technology transfer and talent development, aiming to increase competitiveness, generate jobs and promote Indonesian creative products globally.
