Indonesia's Creative Economy Ministry Trains Over 2,000 AI Talent Graduates

The Ministry of Creative Economy and Culture reported that its Digital Talent (BDT) program produced 2,043 graduates in artificial intelligence, far surpassing the original target of 800. More than 5,900 applicants registered, with participants drawn from every province – about 70% from Java and the remainder from other regions. The graduates come from diverse backgrounds, including job seekers, active workers, and creative entrepreneurs, and are expected to boost AI competency across the Indonesian workforce.

In a related initiative, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized the sector’s role in a restorative economy that goes beyond sustainability. She highlighted the importance of non‑extractive production, eco‑friendly packaging, and responsible marketing, linking creative industry practices to the recovery of the environment, culture, and social ecosystems. The ministry aims to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to promote cultural preservation and inclusive growth.
