Indonesia's Danantara Housing and Bank BTN Boost Affordable Home Initiative
The Indonesian government is accelerating its "Program Tiga Juta Rumah" to deliver three million affordable homes. State-owned Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) is expanding mortgage (KPR) financing through the FLPP and digitalised processes that can release funds in as little as three to five days. BTN director Nixon L. P. Napitupulu said the bank has already disbursed about Rp 4.1 trillion toward the target of Rp 10 trillion and is working to overcome supply‑chain and permit delays.
Danantara Housing, a new platform launched by Danantara Indonesia, will market more than 200,000 units built by state‑owned and private developers. It offers a down‑payment as low as 1%, competitive interest rates and loan terms up to 30 years. CEO Rosan Roeslani explained, "We will sell BUMN‑built apartments and houses with more attractive financing so they can reach the market." The scheme has been welcomed by millennials, with Khairul Anam of the Muslim Youth Union saying it "provides a real solution to the biggest housing need for the productive generation."
