Danantara drives Indonesia waste‑to‑energy projects and launches International Financial Centre plan
PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) is expanding financing for waste‑to‑energy (PSEL) projects nationwide. It opened a lenders panel for infrastructure financing, selected Veolia Environmental Service Asia as the preferred partner for the Semarang project, and appointed China’s Everbright Harmony to implement the Bekasi facility, with design work slated for completion in 2026 and groundbreaking by early 2027. The government, through PLN, is offering 30‑year power‑purchase agreements and has streamlined regulations to attract multinational investors.
In parallel, Danantara is the initial capital contributor for the proposed Pusat Finansial Internasional Indonesia (PFII). A building owned by Danantara in Jakarta will host PFII operations while a site in Bali is under consideration. The law mandates Danantara’s investment without granting control over the PFII managing entity.
Danantara also highlighted the digital transformation of state‑owned toll operator Jasa Marga and participated in the consolidation of BUMN insurance and guarantee companies, reflecting its broader role in Indonesia’s state‑owned enterprise reforms.
