Indonesia's Danantara Sovereign Wealth Fund Joins Global Forum as Patriot Bond Lawsuit Escalates

Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Investment Management, was accepted as an Associate Member of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF). Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir said the membership reflects Indonesia’s commitment to world‑class governance, transparency and the Santiago Principles, and will enable knowledge exchange with leading SWFs.

At the same time, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa responded to a judicial review petition filed by the Anti‑Money Laundering Coalition challenging provisions of the Patriot Bond framework under Law No. 4 of 2026. The coalition argues the bonds grant broad legal immunity that could hinder law enforcement and tax oversight. Purbaya affirmed the government will respect the legal process and await the Constitutional Court’s ruling, while emphasizing that legal experts have been appointed to ensure policy compliance.
