Indonesia's Deputy Labor Minister Afriasyah Noor launches national vocational training program
Deputy Labor Minister Afriasyah Noor said the National Vocational Training (PVN) program is a core effort of the Ministry of Manpower to prepare a workforce that is productive and aligned with the needs of business and industry. He opened the PVN Batch 3 for 2026 at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center in Padang, Sumatra Barat, where 982 participants from Padang, Jambi and Sawahlunto took part.
The ministry targets 300,000 participants nationwide in 2026, expanding access to competency‑based training and offering reskilling and upskilling for workers affected by layoffs. Training is being customized to local strengths such as services, trade and micro‑small‑medium enterprises, with industry partnerships aimed at improving graduate absorption into the labour market.
