Indonesia's Dudung Abdurachman Highlights Cooperative Gaps as Government Expands Village Head Training

General Staff of the Presidency retired General Dudung Abdurachman visited the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDKMP) in Jatiluhur, Purwakarta on 13 July 2026. He praised the completed buildings and main facilities but pointed out that essential health‑care equipment and other operational supplies were still missing. He urged the Agrinas agency to provide the needed items so the cooperative can function fully and keep prices affordable for residents.

A day later, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian opened the second batch of the “Kepala Desa Masuk Kampus” (Village Heads Enter Campus) program in partnership with Universitas Indonesia. The initiative enrolled 434 village heads from 291 districts across 32 provinces, aiming to strengthen local governance, create jobs, and reduce poverty. Karnavian said, “56 percent of our population lives in cities; we must boost villages so they can grow and become financially independent.” He added, “Our hope is that this cooperation will enhance village management and contribute to national development.”
