Indonesia's Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia Cuts LNG Prices, Opens Mini LNG Plant

Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, announced a reduction in the price of industrial liquefied natural gas (LNG) to US$13 per MMBTU, down from the previous range of US$20‑US$20.57. The adjustment follows industry consultations and aims to support sectors such as ceramics and other manufacturing. Under the new scheme, the regulated HGBT price remains US$6.5‑US$7 per MMBTU, while non‑HGBT pipeline gas is set at US$9.6 per MMBTU.

In the same period, Bahlil inaugurated a mini‑LNG plant operated by PT Sumber Aneka Gas in Tuban, East Java. The facility produces LNG, CNG, LPG, condensate and plans to supply liquid CO₂, with a maximum annual output of about 55,300 tons of LNG and additional volumes of LPG and condensate. The plant is intended to boost domestic gas utilization, reduce LPG imports and enhance energy security for industrial, retail and power‑generation users across Java, Bali and Sulawesi.
