Indonesia's Energy Sector Tightens Distribution Safety and Pushes Business‑Led Solar Transition
PT Elnusa Petrofin, a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk and part of Pertamina's upstream sub‑holding, has upgraded its fuel distribution operations across more than 98 sites in Indonesia. The company now monitors its fleet with over 2,900 GPS devices and 2,200 CCTV cameras through a 24‑hour Road Traffic Control centre, implements Journey Risk Management, Fit‑to‑Work checks, dedicated rest areas, and an integrated Maintenance Management System. These measures support the reliable delivery of fuel and LPG, especially during peak periods such as Ramadan, Idul Fitri, Christmas and New Year, when more than 7,000 tank‑driver crews are deployed. Elnusa Petrofin also aligns its operations with sustainability goals, targeting Indonesia's Net‑Zero Emissions target for 2060.
At the Indonesia Solar Summit 2026, Greenvolt Power Indonesia’s Head of Business Development, Bobby Benly, urged Indonesian businesses to treat energy as a strategic investment rather than a short‑term cost. Citing the country’s solar potential of over 3,000 GW versus the current 1.3 GW installed capacity, he highlighted flexible financing schemes such as zero‑CapEx and OpEx models to accelerate solar adoption in the industrial and commercial sectors. Benly emphasized that stable policy, risk‑managed projects, and long‑term returns are essential for achieving Indonesia’s energy self‑sufficiency.
