Indonesia's Forestry Ministry evaluates Manggala Agni resources to boost fire readiness

The Indonesian Ministry of Forestry, led by Minister Raja Juli Antoni, held a meeting with the Directorate General of Law Enforcement to review the personnel and equipment standards for the Manggala Agni brigade, the national unit tasked with combating forest and land fires (karhutla). The ministry will define a "Minimum Essential Cost" to ensure the brigade is properly equipped and safe.

The assessment also covers preventive measures such as the frequency of Operation Modifikasi Cuaca (OMC) and the monitoring of groundwater levels (TMAT) in high‑risk areas like Riau and West Kalimantan, aiming to align resources with real‑field conditions and budgetary constraints.
