Indonesia's GIIAS 2026 draws 12,000 visitors, launches education day for 550 students

The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, held at ICE BSD City in Tangerang, featured a GIIAS Education Day that welcomed more than 550 students and university participants from 11 institutions. Attendees toured exhibitor stands, observed developments in vehicle technology, electric mobility, manufacturing processes and learned about career opportunities in the automotive sector. Organisers highlighted the involvement of manufacturers such as Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda, XPENG, Changan, Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and Astra Financial.

BAIC Indonesia reported that its booth attracted over 12,000 visitors and facilitated more than 300 test‑drive sessions. The company promoted its new electric BAIC T1, offering a chance to win a unit through a lottery for customers who placed vehicle orders. Discounts of up to IDR 20 million on the T1 and additional incentives for wall‑charger purchases were also announced. Demonstrations included the T1 crossing 50 cm of water and test drives of other models like the BJ30 HEV, BJ40 Plus and X55 II.
