Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2026 draws global automakers and new tech
The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) ran from 30 July to 9 August 2026 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang. More than 30 manufacturers used the venue to launch electric‑vehicle line‑ups, showcase AI‑enabled models and unveil new concepts. VinFast displayed its full range of EVs – VF 3, VF 6, VF 7, VF MPV 7 and the Green line – and promoted its “Drive Worry Free” ownership programme with cash‑voucher incentives. Daihatsu announced it will not rush a mass‑market BEV launch, citing that roughly 73 % of Indonesia’s car sales remain internal‑combustion‑engine models and that its strongest market lies outside the Jabodetabek region. Xpeng presented the New X9 MPV with a claimed 715 km NEDC range and a 12‑minute 10‑80 % charge time, emphasizing its AI‑driven driving assistance. Pro7 Autolighting introduced premium lighting bundles priced up to Rp 11.8 million. Aspira launched the Premio Stretto 2 scooter tyre, marketed as a Pirelli‑style asymmetric tread. Isuzu converted a Traga truck into a mobile beauty salon, highlighting flexible commercial‑vehicle use. The show also featured Volvo’s EX90 flagship EV and a suite of electrified models, as well as numerous promotions, financing offers and educational activities on vehicle safety and emerging technologies.
