Indonesia's Hajj Minister Irfan Yusuf Inspects Pilgrim Arrival and Offers Condolences to Families

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf visited the Makassar Hajj dormitory to verify that the debarkasi facility, which serves pilgrims from eight provinces, is operating smoothly and safely.

He also travelled to Maros to pay condolences to the family of a pilgrim who died in Saudi Arabia, noting that around 290 Indonesian pilgrims have died this season. Yusuf said the ministry is tightening health monitoring amid extreme heat in the Kingdom, and the repatriation of pilgrims is proceeding in phases.
