Indonesia welcomes over 76,800 returning Hajj pilgrims

Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah reported that 76,829 pilgrims and staff from 195 travel groups (kloter) have arrived in the country, including 76,051 pilgrims and 778 officials. The phased repatriation, coordinated from Jeddah airport, has so far moved a total of more than 87,000 individuals, with 85,290 already back on Indonesian soil.

Ministerial spokesperson Ichsan Marsha emphasized safety and comfort, saying, “Alhamdulillah, the return process is proceeding well. We continue to ensure optimal service so all pilgrims can return safely and comfortably.” In addition to the return to Indonesia, a second wave of pilgrims is being transferred from Mecca to Medina, with 103 groups carrying 39,391 pilgrims and 412 staff.

The operation, now in its 54th day, underscores the government's focus on transparent, secure management of the pilgrimage, aiming to complete the return of all participants before the final travel group departs Saudi Arabia.
