Indonesia's Home Affairs Ministry Honors Top Regional Governments in Java‑Bali
The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) held an awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Yogyakarta on 4 June 2026 to recognize the best-performing regional governments in the Java‑Bali area. Minister Tito Karnavian presented the honors, noting that many local leaders have “shown positive performance in handling poverty, unemployment and other strategic issues.”
Bali was the only province to win two top categories – poverty and stunting reduction and inflation control. Awards were given in four performance areas: unemployment reduction, creative financing, inflation control, and poverty‑stunting mitigation. Winners received government assistance of Rp3 billion for first‑place, Rp2 billion for second‑place, and Rp1 billion for third‑place.
The ceremony also highlighted the broader six‑region programme, with upcoming awards planned for Papua and future themes such as clean cities and public‑service management. The ministry said the evaluation will continue through November, covering roughly 6 000 districts with quantitative, transparent indicators.
