Indonesia's Home Affairs Ministry validates regional finance index with academics and media

The Home Affairs Ministry’s Strategy and Domestic Policy Agency (BSKDN) conducted an online validation of the 2024 Regional Financial Management Index (IPKD) for the 2025 measurement year. The validation involved academics, experts and mass media to strengthen objectivity, transparency and accountability in assessing regional financial performance.

BSKDN head Yusharto Huntoyungo said the regional, island‑based approach – covering Sumatra, Java‑Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara‑Maluku‑North Maluku and Papua – aims to foster healthy competition among provinces. He outlined a phased plan: by fiscal year 2025/2026 provinces will finance the validation process with BSKDN support, and by 2026/2027 provinces will take full responsibility, while BSKDN continues capacity‑building assistance.

Provincial governments achieving top scores will receive formal appreciation and possible incentives under Ministerial Regulation No. 19/2020, which governs the IPKD.
