Indonesia's House Committee VI summons Pertamina over Pertamax price hike

The sixth commission of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Komisi VI DPR) announced it will call PT Pertamina (Persero) to explain the recent increase in non‑subsidised gasoline prices. Effective 10 June 2026, Pertamax (RON 92) rose from Rp 12,300 to Rp 16,250 per litre and Pertamax Green (RON 95) from Rp 12,900 to Rp 17,000 per litre. Committee members, including Adisatrya Suryo Sulisto and Nasim Khan, said the hike reflects global geopolitics, a weakening rupiah and Indonesia’s reliance on oil imports.

The DPR panel warned that higher fuel costs could raise logistics expenses, fuel inflation and consumer prices, stressing the need to protect small‑and‑medium enterprises and avoid job losses. It also voiced concern that consumers might shift from non‑subsidised fuels to subsidised Pertalite, potentially straining subsidised fuel stocks. Pertamina pledged that the price adjustment follows the government‑approved formula and that supply to its nationwide SPBU network will remain secure.
