Indonesia market reacts to 2027 budget targets and Danantara's IDX interest

Indonesia's financial landscape is seeing significant shifts in market strategy and fiscal planning. The Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency is discussing the acquisition of shares in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to boost market capitalization, which currently stands at 50–60 percent of the nation's GDP.

In the capital markets, the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) rose 1.59 percent to 6,401.89 on Friday, August 14, 2026. This surge followed President Prabowo Subianto's speech regarding the 2027 state budget (RAPBN), which targets a 6 percent economic growth rate and a narrowed budget deficit of 2.40 percent of GDP. The government aims for state revenue to reach Rp3,426.0 trillion.

In the direct selling sector, PT Halal Network International (HNI) contributed Rp963 billion to the national direct selling total of Rp7.08 trillion. HNI leadership emphasized a commitment to using domestic products to substitute imports and plans to expand Indonesian-made goods into international markets.
