Indonesia's Interior Minister Leads Housing and Disaster Stimulus Initiatives

Interior Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian inspected a Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) house‑rehabilitation project in Matraman, East Jakarta, confirming the recipient’s eligibility under the National Single Social‑Economic Data (DTSEN). The program, part of a broader effort to expand decent‑housing access for low‑income families, also includes tax‑exemption measures for land and building rights and urges local governments to allocate budget for housing repairs.

In Aceh’s Pidie Jaya regency, flood‑affected residents received stimulus payouts of up to Rp8 million, which families such as Milawati and Salwati have turned into small‑business capital for selling snacks and drinks in temporary settlements. The stimulus, delivered by the Post‑Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, is part of a Rp100.1‑trillion national budget for reconstruction and aims to revive household incomes while rebuilding homes.
