Indonesia's Kemenkum regional offices harmonize local draft regulations

The regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) in Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) held an online meeting on July 9, 2026 to harmonise two draft Bupati Regulations for Kapuas Regency. The drafts aim to exempt low‑income households from the Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) and building permit fees, reducing costs and speeding affordable‑housing acquisition. Kemenkum officials, including regional head Hajrianor and Kapuas Revenue Agency chief Yaya, stressed that the harmonisation will produce implementable laws that benefit residents.

Two days earlier, Kemenkum’s West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) office led a harmonisation session for three draft regulations in Sumbawa Barat Regency. Deputy Division Head Edward James Sinaga oversaw the review of two draft regional regulations on child‑rights protection and agricultural product processing, plus a draft Bupati regulation on tax examination and collection. The team highlighted the need for consistency with higher‑level legislation and sound regulatory drafting techniques.
