In early July 2026, the regional office of Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum) in Central Kalimantan convened an online session to align two draft Bupati regulations for Kapuas Regency, aiming to exempt low‑income households from acquisition duties and building‑permit fees and speed affordable‑housing projects. The same week, Kemenkum’s West Nusa Tenggara office led a harmonisation meeting in Sumbawa Barat, reviewing draft regulations on child‑rights protection, agricultural processing, and tax examination.

By late July, Kemenkum’s harmonisation programme had expanded to additional provinces. In Central Kalimantan, the Kanwil office worked with Murung Raya officials to finalise four draft regulations covering long‑ and medium‑term development plans, seeking higher‑quality statutes and better public services. Simultaneously, the Bangka Belitung Islands office reviewed criminal provisions in regional regulations to align them with the new national criminal code and the 2026 Penal Adjustment Law, emphasizing proportional penalties and restorative measures. Across both snapshots, the Ministry’s consistent effort is to ensure local rules conform to national legislation and provide clearer legal certainty for citizens.
